· A draft report of the much-criticized, Republican-backed review of 2020 election results in Arizona’s largest county has in fact confirmed the winners, Maricopa County said.

· Cyber Ninjas’ draft report was set to be released at 4 p.m. ET by the Arizona Senate Republicans who commissioned the firm, despite it having no election-auditing experience.

· Meanwhile, Congressional House Democrats have called on Cyber Ninjas’ CEO, Doug Logan, to testify at a hearing on October 7, which follows his “repeated refusal” to comply with their investigation of the questionable audit.

Rather than finding that Trump defeated President Joe Biden in the competitive swing state’s most populous county, Cyber Ninjas tallied 99 additional votes for Biden, and 261 fewer votes for Trump than previously counted, that according to The NY Times (which obtained a copy of the draft).

The much-delayed report from Cyber Ninjas, a FL-based firm whose owner had spread pro-Trump conspiracies that had been repeatedly hyped up by Trump himself.

Jack Sellers, Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, said in a statement and in a tweet: “Unfortunately, the report is littered with errors & faulty conclusions about how Maricopa County conducted the 2020 General Election, but this should be the end of the story. Everything else is just noise. But I’m sure it won’t be. (He then predicted that his board will be accused in the report of failing to cooperate with Cyber Ninjas) then added: “How could we cooperate with an inquiry that was led by people who have no idea how to run any election, let alone one in the second largest voting district in the United States?”

My 2 Cents: This is not totally unexpected regarding Trump since he has a long string of 2020 election losses in every state and in over some 50 court cases, even worse like in GA where he technically lost 4 different times. 

But, he still cannot give up as shown recently in his September 23 letter to GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger examined here from CNN.

Trump is a lost cause – a pathetic totally incorrigible man.

The sooner he is prosecuted and locked up, better it will be for the whole country, and in fact better for the whole planet. The man is just simply horrible.

Republican state Senate leader, Karen Fann, said in a Senate statement that waiting for the audit will have to continue a little while longer, adding: “I have received a portion of a draft report from the company, but unfortunately Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan and two other members of that five-person audit team have tested positive for COVID-19 and are quite sick.”

NOTE: President Joe Biden won Maricopa County by more than 45,000 votes, a victory certified by local Republican officials who have clashed with Fann and Cyber Ninjas over the election review. 

Cyber Ninjas has been conducting the highly irregular review of the 2020 election in Maricopa County at the behest of state GOP leaders since April. They were expected to finally submit its findings following a process that saw their volunteers scanning some 2.1 million ballots for signs of “bamboo slivers” in an effort to prove they were fraudulent and made in China. Now that’s all delayed.

In early March, a Boston-based vote-counting firm called “Clear Ballot Group” sent a bid to the Arizona state Senate to audit the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County.

1.  That firm has conducted more than 200 such audits over 13 years in business.

2.  Keir Holeman, a Clear Ballot Group vice president, wrote to the Republican-controlled Senate.

3. He said he never heard back.

Instead, the state GOP Senate hired a small FL-based cybersecurity firm known as “Cyber Ninjas” that had not placed a formal bid for the contract and had no experience with election audits.

Senate GOP President Karen Fann says she can’t recall how she found the firm, but her critics believe one credential stood out: “Cyber Ninjas CEO, Doug Logan, had tweeted support for conspiracy theories claiming that Trump, and not Biden, had won Maricopa County and Arizona, too.”

Now that untested, little-known cybersecurity firm is running a partly taxpayer-funded process that election experts describe as so deeply flawed it veers into the surreal.

Its chief aim, critics say, appears to be testing far-fetched theories, rather than simply recounting votes — an approach that directly undermines the country’s democratic traditions.

This story is pitiful and reflects badly on the GOP in AZ. I also predict they will pay a heavy price at the polls in the out years, and rightly so.

For sure this a sad chapter in GOP election history following the 2020 election. Sadly, it’s all based on Trump’s “Big Lie” that is that the election was “fake, fraudulent, and rigged against him” and that he actually won and Joe Biden didn’t and is in office illegally (Cite the January 6 attempt to overturn the final vote certification).

That set of facts and this bogus Cyber Ninjas stunt must never be forgotten. It’s a strong 2022 and 2024 message for the country and more so now in view of the recent GOP moves to change voting laws to ensure that they never lose again.

Protecting our right to vote fair, free, safe, and secure is under GOP attack – plain and simple. It must stay front and center 24/7.
