Officials cited by the NY Times said both those key components of this “new Trump non-agreement” deal were actually agreed upon months ago.

That was when the Mexican government promised then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in March that they would deploy its National Guard, and arrange to expand the program and allow those seeking asylum in the U.S. to stay in Mexico – that part was agreed upon in diplomatic negotiations last December, also according to the Times story.

B/L: As usual more Trump lies and BS to self-fluff while avoiding the facts and truth, and not giving credit where it’s due – that is not with him as usual.

The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on (June 7, 2010) consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months – report here from the New York Times.

That declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” 

But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami.” The centerpiece of “Trump’s deal” was an expansion of a program to allow asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their legal cases proceed. 

But that arrangement was first reached back in December in a pair of painstakingly negotiated diplomatic notes that the two countries exchanged.

My 2 cents: Goddard nails it again (as usual)… good reporting and excellent research… book mark him – won’t regret it. 

Again my analysis of Trump: 

He demands loyalty from everyone and insists that they believe and trust anything and everything he says or else they get fired along with a ton of insults while he makes more promises and blames everyone around him for his newest failure on top of previous failures as the public watches his constant bragging about how his is again winning while denying the truth and facts about losing and remaining out of touch with everyone except his brain-dead loyal base. 

Whew – pretty much says it all in my view – the Trump con still working – or is it starting to wear thin?
