Anti-Trump 2020 Media Wave: Just May Have Started from Orlando, FL — Likely to Spread

Worried look of a man starting to slide downhill

Pretty startling news from the Orlando Sentinel newspaper ripping Trump and will not endorse – their simple message: “ABT (Anybody But Trump) in stunning editorial.
Heart of the staff editorial (18 June 2019):
We’re here to announce our endorsement for president in 2020, or, at least, who we’re not endorsing: Donald Trump. Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump.”
“Enough of the chaos, the division, the schoolyard insults, the self-aggrandizement, the corruption, and especially the lies. So many lies — from white lies to whoppers — told out of ignorance, laziness, recklessness, expediency or opportunity.”
In a public shaming of people who voted for the president in 2016, the Sentinel called out what it described as a troubling “tolerance” for Trump’s divisive rhetoric writing:Trump’s capacity for lying isn’t the surprise here. Though the frequency is. It’s the tolerance so many Americans have for it.”
My 2 cents: The B/L is simple regardless of this editorial and I suspect more will follow is this. Trump loyalists will stand by him no matter that he says, does, tries, or lies about, period. In their eyes, he can do no wrong.
That is the most-troubling since Trump thrives on attention and first place bragging rights always on himself … that’s the pattern his whole adult life, and that’s damn scary.
What got him elected? (1) His business background (all based on fraud, cheating, suing, and lying); (2) his hate-spewing anti-everyone (mostly immigrants, DEMS, and Hillary Clinton and yes, even GOP primary rivals at the time) in his speeches and with his personal nasty name-calling labels; (3) like-minded people, sadly, agreed and supported him for that attack mode; (4) ease to have fallen for his threats and promises and pledges (all were more lies); and now (5) his actual performance (a trail of utter failures) has finally come to light.
He promised “hope” (clever use of that word) and that gained him trust and votes. Then he delivered mostly more “hate.”
Trump is a skilled con artist, who is also very dangerous in action and deed, while always sounding great. I don’t scare easily and I don’t take pride in saying this about any president, but this is very worrisome for our country.
Thanks for stopping by.
