Trump's one-man show in full swing and in full view
Man in the Middle has the Other Two Scared to Death
(None of them fulfilling their sworn duty — not one bit)
Major headlines and impact of Trump's Terrible Tariff War:
The ongoing
trade war is damaging some of Americans’ favorite brands, with General Motors
(GM) warning that the tariffs could lead to a “smaller GM.”
In response
to the tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, Mexico,
the EU, and Canada have all imposed duties on U.S. products.
Earlier this month,
Mexico imposed tariffs on $3 billion worth of pork, apples. and cheese.
The EU raised taxes on $3.4 billion worth of U.S. imports, including
classically “American” items like bourbon, blue jeans and motorcycles.
Canada’s
tariffs on $16.6 billion of U.S. products like ketchup, strawberry jam and
toilet paper go into effect on July 1.
Now, iconic “Made in America” Harley-Davidson (HOG) announced that it is moving some of its production abroad over the next 9 to 18 months — to countries like Brazil, India, and Australia. In a regulatory filing, they said its taxes have increased from 6% to 31% for bikes bound for Europe. This translates to an additional $2,200 per motorcycle.

So that the cost is not passed onto the
consumer, Harley Davidson will eat the additional cost, which the company
estimates to be between $90 million and $100 million annually.
This startling impact headline on the
above notes – now what Mr. Trump, um?
“Trump's tariff war make it
harder to rebuild infrastructure”
Merchants Bridge in St.
Louis: 127 years old now in danger of being shut down
if it is not replaced
soon
Cite this article and impact on just one single major bridge
in St. Louis – imagine all the other project facing an unknown future – a “new deal
or raw or lousy deal” from Trump – now watch him backpedal. Not such a smart, clever
businessman, right, Mr. Trump?
One can’t
stop laughing or crying depending on their point of view.

Add this from the biggest hypocrite in
Congress – Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) himself: Ryan called Trump’s tariffs
“basically taxes.” And, just after this own State’s Wisconsin-based
Harley-Davidson said it would move some motorcycle production overseas because of retaliatory penalties from the European Union (that story is above).
Ryan said in part: “I think tariffs are basically taxes. What ends up
happening is you get escalating tariffs or escalating taxes.” Ryan went on to
say that Trump imposing of tariffs on steel and aluminum imports could
eventually wipe out any benefits companies gained by the president’s tax cuts,
then he added: “One of the reasons we did tax reform was to make it easier for
businesses to keep manufacturing in America and export overseas.”
Ryan further acknowledged
that some countries take advantage of their trading partners but said there are
other ways than tariffs to handle that. “There are unfair trading practices, no
two ways about it. I think it’s in our interest to use other tools to go after
those unfair trading practices to stop other countries from dumping, from
cheating, from stealing … but I think there are better tools than tariff
increases,” he concluded.
My Memo for Paul Ryan
and like-minded Trump loyalists in the shadows shaking when Trump speaks or
acts: “Look, 90 of
the public knew this beforehand – you are asleep at the wheel Mr. Ryan et al –
wake the “F” up and do your job stand with America as you always profess – not with
Trump unless he is correct, which we all know by is by a wide margin of 95% to
5% he never is right or correct – just arrogant and a one man show – stand up
and stop that madness.
More background on Trump here – FYI:
September 26, 2016 (During on Presidential Debate)
“You’ve taken business
bankruptcies six times.” – Clinton
“On occasion – four
times – we used certain laws that are there.” – Trump
THE FACT CHECKER | Clinton is
correct
Trump’s companies
have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means a company can
remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. The bankruptcy court
ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repay remaining debts;
often shareholders lose much of their equity.
Trump’s Taj
Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, “defaulted
on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin,” The
Washington Post found. In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy.
Then he could
not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two
properties declared bankruptcy in 1992.
A fourth
property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after
amassing debt.
PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed
after 1992, totaling six: Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy
again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt, and Trump
Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard
during the 2008 recession.
So, why the discrepancy? Simple and in true Trump fashion - peddle the BS: Trump told Washington Post reporters that he counted the first three
bankruptcies as just one.
My 2 Cents: That all was not a discrepancy or mistake or
slip of tongues or error – nope one bit.
What is all means and shows is a typical
Trump trick (the “Art of the Con”) – that is when Trump tells a story or says
something then without question we must all believe and trust him without
question or doubt – or else all Hell breaks loose.
He will unleash nasty name calling and insults – we saw
in 2016 and that continues today unchecked with him never be held to account
and when the media does – he unloads a new barrage of insults.
That is his style
and apparently those who supported and still do support him and that technique
love a “con man like him” the Flim-Flam man in the White House. That is the
worst part – they tolerate and endure Trump.
Just image Trump were running the country like
one of his many failed businesses – whoa, wait – damn he is now already – so,
never mind, I guess???
Thanks for stopping by –
