Small Bag of Cocaine Found in West Wing: In Small Cubby on Floor of Visitor Access Point

Done on purpose (maybe) or accidently dropped (likely)

Two updates on the GOP response to the small bag of cocaine found in the West Wing of the White House: One from Rep James Comer (R-KY) and one Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) both on the warpath after the entire Biden family.

These two updates address Comer and Cotton demands to the Secret Service.

The first is from NBC News here in part regarding Comer:

WASHINGTON — House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is requesting a Secret Service briefing on the recent discovery of that small bag of cocaine at the White House.

In his letter (July 7) to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Comer said he wanted a staff-level briefing by the end of next week as his committee seeks more details about the cocaine that was found that in that highly trafficked part of the West Wing that prompted a brief evacuation.

Comer wrote in part:This alarming development requires the Committee to assess White House security practices and determine whose failures led to an evacuation of the building and finding of the illegal substance.”

The second update part is also from NBC News in this video clip wherein Cotton demands a response from the Secret Service – more important in the video is the Secret Service’s reported reply to Cotton’s demand – they said: “This has never happened in recent memory.”

My advice to both Comer and Cotton or other “Biden headhunters” just STFU and stop the childish games – listen to the professionals and stop your silly nonsense conspiracy craziness.

FYI: I stand by my original post and comments that follow next.

ABC News headline story:

“Secret Service test confirms cocaine found at White House, spokesman says”

The confirmed cocaine powder was found in a small bag inside a cubby on the ground floor of the White House, near the West Wing entrance where visitors are instructed to drop off their cell phones and other electronic devices.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told the press:Where this was discovered is a heavily traveled area where many West Wing visitors come through this particular area. It is now under full investigation by the Secret Service. This is in their purview. And so we're going to allow the investigation to continue and we have confidence that the Secret Service will get to the bottom. The president and his family were at Camp David and not at the White House over the long week end.”

Former Secret Service agent Don Mihalek said:From Friday night to Sunday, West Wing tours usually occur, led by staff, members of Congress and others who have that privilege. This discovery allegedly took place in an area widely accessible to anyone visiting the White House.”

Right now the Secret Service is checking for fingerprints and reviewing visitor logs for the visitors on last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (typical visitor days).

My 2 Cents: My hunch based on two possibilities: (1) Maybe and not inconceivable, it was placed there on purpose to embarrass and insult the President and get media cover for some wild  conspiracy; or more likely, I think: (2) It was dropped by accident from the same pocket where the person took out their cell phone.

It’s like dropping folded money from your pocket or purse while taking out your cell phone or car keys, which I’m sure we all have at time or another. I know I have. Now we wait and see.

I just don't think there is anything nefarious here, but time will tell.
