GA Special Grand Jury: Partial Report for Trump "They Did Not Exonerate You — Not One Bit"

Just find me 11,780 votes…
(Call to GA Sec of State Raffensperger)

The Georgia “Special Grand Jury” looking into potential 2020 election fraud and criminal activities and especially any hanky-panky from Trump and his cohorts reported on here from The NY TIMES with this headline – (key elements listed below – formatted to fit the blog):

“Takeaways from the Report on the Trump Georgia Investigation”

On February 16, after a lengthy criminal investigation by a Georgia special grand jury into allegations of election interference by Donald J. Trump and his allies, a judge released excerpts from a report drafted by the panel.

The grand jury’s recommendations were redacted, and little new information was released, but a close reading, together with earlier reporting, offers some insights into where the case is headed. Here are some key takeaways:

Legal experts say Mr. Trump remains in real jeopardy in GA:

The Trump “Big Lie” continues via his post on “Truth Social” that same afternoon when he thanked the special grand jury for itsPatriotism & Courageand added:Total exoneration. The USA is very proud of you!!!”

My Insert Note: Trump was NOT totally or even partially exonerated by that partial release of information – NOT one bit. Trump claiming that does not make it so.

In fact, the portions of the grand jury’s report that included recommendations on possible indictments were not revealed. Many legal experts continue to see two significant areas of exposure for Mr. Trump.

* The first area is Trump’s direct involvement in recruiting a slate of alternative presidential electors after the 2020 election, even after Georgia’s election results were re-certified by the state’s Republican leadership.

* The second was a telephone call (January 2, 2021) Trump made to Brad Raffensperger the GA Secretary of State.

Trump told him to “just find 11,780 votes,” which he said was one more he needed win over Joe Biden.

Norman Eisen, a lawyer who served as special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during the first impeachment of Trump, and a co-author of a lengthy Brookings Institution report on the Fulton County investigation, said: Even before we got these initial statements from the special grand jury, we knew Trump was in deep criminal peril because of the mountain of evidence that has accumulated that he violated Georgia statutes.”

The jurors did make recommendations about indictments:

The special grand jury noted in its report that it had voted on indictment recommendations, though the released excerpts do not reveal what the results of those votes were.

The jurors wrote that they had “set forth for the Court our recommendations on indictments and relevant statutes.”

(Note: A special grand jury cannot bring indictments, but can make recommendations to the DA for such indictments.)

In ordering that only portions of the report be released, with all names redacted, the judge handling the case may have provided a clue to the grand jury’s recommendations.

Judge Robert C.I. McBurney of Fulton County Superior Court, said he was limiting the extent of the release because the grand jury inquiry, by its nature, allowed for only “very limited due process for potential defendants.” The judge’s stance would have been unlikely if the grand jury had not recommended indictments.

One specific issue raised in the excerpts is perjury. A majority of jurors believed that perjury may have been committed “by one or more witnesses,” though those witnesses were not identified.

But perjury is not the only potential charge the grand jury discussed, since the jurors say that the un-redacted report includes an appendix listing a number of applicable statutes.

Noteworthy is that none of the 23 jurors believed there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election in Georgia.

In the released excerpts, the jury noted that it had reached a unanimous conclusion specifically saying:No widespread fraud took place in the Georgia 2020 presidential election that could result in overturning that election.”

In other words the election was fair and square and not stolen from Trump has he has been saying ever since election night November 3, 2020 in which he lost to Joe Biden by some 7 million votes.

It also suggests that none of the jurors were hardline Trump supporters who had adopted his false claims that the election was stolen, even though it is likely that some of the jurors possibly did vote for Trump.

My 2 Cents: The Special Grand Jury report and the pending decision from DA Fani Willis is not good news for Trump or his few allies.

Hopefully Trump will be indicted, tried and convicted in GA for this pressure on the GA officials to flip the election to him over Biden… the proof is as clear as day and his own words in the phone call to the GA SOS proves that without any doubt or at least it should.

Secondly is the drove of highly classified documents that Trump hoarded at Mar-a-Lago saying at various time they were his to keep and all the lies in between then and now.

The NY AG and the Manhattan DA pending cases compete his nasty criminal list. The man has only thing to worry about: Who will nail him first and how much jail time will be have to bargain for?

But also keep in mind that Trump will fight this day and night – it’s his character and he has escaped justice all his adult life but hopefully not now!!! Keep in mind along this nasty saga that: “No One is Above the Law.”

Thanks for stopping by.
