July 4, 1776—July 4, 2022: Our Up's and Down's for 246 Years and Now Internal Political Mess

Our democratic system is now shaky
(Let's repair it & remember who we are)

What we are witnessing right now today is a GOP rightwing/conservative political revival to take over the country come Hell or High Water as reported on here from Vox.com with this headline and a related article here from NPR:

“The Republican revolt against democracy, explained in 13 charts”

The Trump years revealed a dark truth: The Republican Party is no longer committed to democracy — 13 charts tell the story.

My short introduction: I selected what I think are the five most-important of the 13 Vox article charts that underscore what is happening every day around us, or so it seems. All of the charts are in the main article, and they reveal very informative data.

The 5 Vox charts plus 1 additional chart speak volumes and follow:

This last chart basically ties it all together in my mind (it is not one of the 13 Vox charts), but it is the most-worrisome I believe:

My 2 Cents: Again, a very good information and quite detailed article from Vox and they spent a lot of time and effort in it. It truly does show the sad state of political affairs today in our country.

Also, be assured that our “enemies” follow these things, too, and will work hard to use them and other tools to spread hateful disinformation for the sole purpose to undermine us on the world stage.

This national division right now is the worse I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. Somehow we must try and reverse it and get back to some sort of normalcy – not 100% for each political side but for the sake the nation and our best interests for every one of us and the nation's future.

We still can disagree and do political battle, but at the end of the day we must come together and stick together to end this nightmare that followed the 2020 election and then the January 6 Capitol insurrection just to please one man and his warped ideas.

We must never go through that kind of scenario again at least in my humble opinion – I hope you agree.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy 4th of July – we are now 246 years old but we still have a long way to go to get out of this political mess.
