House Act Now: Must Move to Censure & Expel Rep. Boebert (R-CO) for Threat to Speaker Pelosi

Message not illegal; Gun shots at Pelosi are

This story from Business Insider demands public attention and reaction to House leadership.

In my words: Rep. Boebert, her story below, should be censured and voted out of Congress (expelled) for the following reason. I firmly believe and I pretty sure many others feel the same way that her video post (see the link) was a direct threat to Speaker Pelosi’s life. It would not matter whether it was Pelosi or anyone else in Congress (she hates DEMS the most BTW), but a threat like her video shows is still a threat and it must not go unpunished – ergo: Boebert must be removed from office ASAP.

This story:

§  Controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) released a video attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi which featured a gunshot sound.

§  Boebert says in the video, followed by gunshot sounds clearly heard at the end of the video saying: “Madam Speaker, tear down this wall.”

§  The Colorado congresswoman gained notoriety in January for pledging to carry a gun around Congress.

Boebert is a newly elected member of Congress who gained notoriety in January for pledging to carry a gun around Congress, has drawn criticism and now this video in essence threatening Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Her video comes only two months after hundreds of pro-Trump protestors stormed the Capitol and targeted lawmakers including Pelosi. Two women were charged in the Capitol riot who said they were “looking for Pelosi to shoot her in the friggin' brain” according to the legal documents.

Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), who also represents Colorado, criticized Boebert's decision to release the video on Wednesday, calling the congresswoman “depraved.”

He then added:I'm not going to work with folks who normalize that behavior because it's not funny, it's not normal, it's not okay. What we have seen over the last three years – and certainly on January 6 – is that words have consequences, especially if you're an elected official. People listen to you and they act on what you say, and very real people are getting hurt and getting killed, because some people don't understand that. That's a leadership failure and we can't tolerate it.”

Boebert is a solid vocal gun rights advocate who owns a gun-themed bar and restaurant called “Shooters Grill,” where waiting staff carry guns.

Boebert in February appeared in a virtual phone call conference call of the House Natural Resources Committee with at least four firearms displayed in the background.

On government business: Her message is clear
(Open carry guns in Congress her goal)

She criticized the committee's proposal to ban people from carrying firearms in its hearing room at the Capitol. She called the proposed rule “absurd and discriminative.”

My 2 cents: For Rep. Boebert – if you don’t like the Congressional rules, or can’t follow them, then get out – short and sweet message – no guns in Congress except by security personnel, period. End of story. Abide by that or to back to Colorado and stay out of the public eye.

For Speaker Pelosi and all House leaders, from both sides, act now to censure and expel Boebert from office.

Thanks for stopping by.
