Playing to the Media: Now as “Rocky 45”
(Posing for his new game show gig)
From the Washington Post via MSN here – an outstanding article – the highlights follow:
When
the New Year begins shortly, Trump will have an acting Chief of Staff; an
acting Secretary of Defense; an acting AG; an acting EPA Administrator; no Interior
Secretary; and, no UN Ambassador.
The
officials originally in all those positions have either been fired or have quit
in various measures of disgust or scandal.
Trump’s
former Campaign Chairman (Paul Manafort),
his Deputy Campaign Chairman (Rick Gates),
National Security Adviser (Michael Flynn),
and his personal lawyer (Michael Cohen)
have all pleaded guilty to various crimes.
His
election campaign, his election transition team, the Trump Foundation, and various
Trump businesses are also under investigation.
U.S.
allies are horrified at
the chaos Trump has brought to our foreign policy as he turns against then as
he openly bashes most of them, even in public.
The
Stock Market is experiencing wild swings as
worse as the Great Depression as investors are gripped with fear over what
might be coming, or what Trump might do to make things even worse.
It
was a situation so alarming enough that the Treasury Secretary (Steven Mnuchin) felt the need to
call up the CEOs of six major banks to assure them that everything was under
control.
And,
oh yeah, the government is shut down for the third time under Trump.
My 2 cents: As stated above this is exactly what many who were
afraid of when Trump somehow managed to get elected president two years ago.
This is exactly what the public was warned about. But, those who did
the warning were laughed at and poo-pooed daily and mostly via right wing talk
radio and all across most conservative media outlets.
Now, proof meets pudding. However, more is likely to come out, so stay tuned.
Reality is setting in; the abyss is wide and deep; or choose any other analogy,
they all seem to fit this Trump carnival show.
Thanks for stopping by.
