DeSantis as Bad as Trump: Horrible Man for the Job as President too Anti-Social About Everything

DeSantis bad example for kids & their future
(Using them as his props for no good reason)

Timely article showing 100% why Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) must never be elected president of the United States since he is the most-radical and anti-social everything candidate ever to run for that office.

What follows are examples of his harsh and in some cases downright nutty attack on social progress in education reported on from here from AMERICAN OVERSIGHT with this their story headline:

“RIGHT-WING ATTACKS ON EDUCATION AND STUDENT EXPRESSION”

Mostly led by GOP FL Gov. Ron DeSantis conservatives and Republican state leaders are attempting to prevent students from learning about race or gender through censorship, restrictions, and right-wing indoctrination.

Conservative political leaders across the country are launching attacks on public education by limiting what instructors can teach about racism and gender, demonizing and restricting the rights of LGBTQ students and teachers, and banning books that they deem “inappropriate.”

American Oversight is using public records to investigate these egregious attempts to politicize, censor, and weaken public education, from early elementary school through higher education.

Watch this “Lincoln Project” video (2:30 minutes) it targets DeSantis as the “Worst Governor in America.”

Examples follow:

1. DeSantis has all but declared war against students of color and gay and transgender students in FL.

2. DeSantis signed the Stop WOKE Act in 2022, which prohibits the teaching of certain concepts that could make students feel “guilt, anguish, or any other forms of psychological distress” because of their race or national origin, along with other vague restrictions that serve to stifle discussion of racial injustice.

3. He also signed the Parental Rights in Education Act (AKA: Don’t Say Gay bill) — which banned teaching children about gender or sexual identity.

4. DeSantis also supported laws that ban including transgender female student athletes from playing on girls’ and women’s teams and requiring that books available in classrooms go through an extra layer of review, actions that have been echoed by conservative leaders with similar agendas in other states (e.g., don’t read this book or that book unless he approves of it and says so).

5. In January 2023, DeSantis said he would reject a proposed AP (Advancement Placement) African American Studies course for including content such as “intersectionality and activism” and “Black Queer studies.”

6. The College Board later removed many of the criticized contemporary Black authors and content from its required curriculum nationwide, though asserting that the changes were not in response to political pressure from DeSantis or Florida – all the while, DeSantis and other conservative leaders also have attacked the concept of social-emotional learning

7. DeSantis has also targeted higher education, including by working to turn New College of Florida, a progressive public college, into a conservative institution. After replacing the school’s board of trustees with conservative allies — including prominent anti-critical race theory (CRT) activist Christopher Rufo — the new trustees appointed DeSantis’ former education commissioner as the college’s president.

8. DeSantis has also expressed his intent to ban diversit, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs at public universities in FL. His newly appointed trustees at New College voted to scrap the school DEI programs.

9. Other states (e.g., Texas) have also targeted DEI programs just like FL.

My 2 Cents: From the “what it’s worth department” and, no not the song of the same title, Gov. DeSantis must never be anywhere near the White House in any capacity except maybe for a visit – but certainly never as president – no ifs, ands, or buts.

That is my opinion and based on the above article and his overall record in FL reinforces my opinion, and I hope it that will help the readers and voters as we move along in this critical 2024 election cycle in their decision to not vote for him.

Thanks for stopping by.
