Hot 2024 Issues: DEMS for Justice & GOP for Trump; Roe v. Wade Gone But Not Majority Voters

Jordan to Comer: What do we do with this pile of sh*t?
(Let's check the manual)

Easy Peasy - No problemo

This excellent piece from PBS NEWS HOUR reported on with this headline triggered my post which follows below:

“Trump allies in Congress leap to defend former president after federal indictment”

That headline follows Trump’s first federal indictment and now two others have followed with a fourth pending in GA and expected soon since their Grand Jury starts meeting on August 14 in Atlanta.

Fact: Democrats have allowed the justice system to run its course regarding the Hunter Biden investigation. That is a courtesy that Republicans haven't returned when regarding the now-three indictments filed against Trump.

As noted in the PBS article: When Trump got indicted, Republicans and Trump attack prosecutors, the judges, and the entire judicial system. Trump can never be guilty of anything in their eyes, even now when he currently faces 78 felony charges spread across three indictments and the fourth pending in GA as I noted above.

In all those cases, Trump has pleaded not guilty while accusing them of being a politically-motivated witch hunt, including charges related to claims (1) that he orchestrated a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election, (2) he mishandled 100’s of highly classified documents at various places, and (3) how he broke the law attempting to reverse the 2020 election outcome that resulted in the January 6 Capitol insurrection intended to reverse the EC count in his favor.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) – who is also a constitutional law professor and legal expert – called the Biden investigation bumpy saying:From my perspective, it is the rule of law and the justice system working itself out the way that it does and, obviously, it's bumpy and this side or that side doesn't necessarily prefer this course of events. But our job, I think, as political people is to allow the justice system to run its course.”

Republicans use the Hunter Biden investigation as an attempt to pin charges on President Biden, who continues to maintain that he had no knowledge of his son's business dealings.

For example:

Devon Archer, former friend and business partner of Hunter Biden testified before the Comer House Oversight Committee in July saying:Hunter called his father many times during business dealings over a 10-year period, never discussing business deals as Hunter was simply selling the illusion of access to his father.”

Now, and suddenly, but not totally unexpected, this Trump-owned GOP refuses to even believe that from their own witnesses plus the convicted felon (Gal Luft) who fled from that justice after being marketed as a “star witness” by Rep. Comer.

But, boy oh boy, what a flop that turned out to be. Now too, Comer is silent as a church mouse on all that and the Luft fiasco.

FYI: My recent post on this topic is linked here.

My 2 Cents: Its things like that above which keep the country divided and on edge and at the boiling point as this GOP complains about without actually blaming any of it on Trump or themselves.

All this GOP-run House has done since 2022 is work hard to keep the focus on the DEMS and now the entire Biden family – as Rep. Comer (R-KY) recently stated.

The GOP motto seems to be: “Do all we can, anything at all, to support and prop up Trump to help him get this revenge on anyone not a Republican” or so it seems for 2024.

That’s all I have right now on this. It’s plenty and a lot more is yet to come from this Trump-owned and operated GOP. Be prepared.

Thanks for stopping by.
