Major news update on the Arizona “bogus ballot audit” and fallout from Business Insider with this headline:

Trump and Giuliani could face criminal investigation in Arizona over their attempts to overturn election

·  Trump and his allies could face a criminal investigation in AZ.

·  AZ SOS asked the AZ AG investigate Trump allies for violating election laws.

·  AZ GOP Chairwoman and a staunch Trump backer, Kelli Ward, told Maricopa officials “We need you to stop the counting the votes.”

Trump and his key allies could be facing a criminal investigation in AZ for launching a campaign to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Last week AZ Secretary of State Katie Hobbs wrote to the state's AG Mark Brnovich to urge him to launch a criminal investigation into Trump and his allies over the potential violations of state election laws.

Hobbs, a Democrat, made the request after reporting from The Arizona Republic revealed details of the high-pressure campaign launched by Trump and a number of his allies.

Hobbs wrote that Trump and individuals, including his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, AZ GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward, and lawyer Sidney Powell, tried to influence Maricopa officials to stop the counting of ballots.

Specifically, Hobbs cited comments made by GOP Chair Ward towards the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, including: “We need you to stop the counting. I know you don't want to be remembered as the guy who led the charge to certify a fraudulent election.”

On Friday, AG Brnovich's office wrote to Hobbs asking for documents related to allegations of violations of election fraud, that also according to The Arizona Republic.

Brnovich, a Republican running for the Senate, said in the email that Hobbs had not submitted referrals for double voting. That from Brnovich is the first public sign that he is examining records after the pressure campaign was revealed.

A spokeswoman for Hobbs said the secretary of state was sending the required records to the AG on Friday (July 16).

Trump has long alleged that the results of the 2020 election were fraudulent, particularly in AZ. However, all his claims have been widely debunked at the local, state, and Federal levels including at the USSC and over 60 court cases.

The AP as well as NBC News and The Guardian all report that investigations by AZ county election officials (all 15 counties) have found only 182 possible voter fraud cases out of the 3 million ballots cast in the state in 2020.

Noteworthy: The 182 cases identified by the AP represent instances where problems were clear enough that officials referred them for further review.

So far, only four cases have led to charges, including those identified in a separate state investigation. No one has been convicted. No vote was counted twice.

More cases could emerge but the numbers illustrate the implausibility of Trump’s claims that fraud and irregularities cost him the state.

In the final, certified, and audited results, Biden won 10,400 more votes in AZ than Trump out of the 3.4 million votes cast.

The AP findings also align with previous studies showing that voter fraud is rare, since numerous safeguards are built into the systems to prevent and detect it.

My 2 Cents: Hey, GOP Americans locked on Trump and his lies on top of lies, time to wake up and realize who he is and what he is.

Here, I'll help you remember: Trump is the biggest con man ever with the skills and finesse to keep you GOPers in line as he causes more damage the country. All the while he blames the DEMS and everyone else, and sadly with your help, he keeps the “Big Lie” hot and heavy. That is the dangerous part.

So, it’s time to wake up Mr. and Mrs. Gee Old People and come to your senses and cut your ties to him and now — that would be better for us all.

Thanks for stopping by.
