Trump & PMG DeJoy: Slowing Mail Service for 2020 by Hampering Mail-in Ballot Processing

Admits to his scheme to slow or stop USPS service
(Supports his fraud claims and way to win)

Trump intentionally slowing mail delivery to aid his reelection bid by hampering mail-in ballot processing.

This is my introduction to the post that follows:
The new American heroes during this horrible pandemic are all the medical personnel. The next new heroes will be the Postal Workers who hopefully will demand that they be allowed to do their jobs and that is: To deliver all the mail no matter what in a timely, safe, and secure manner that they have for over 200 years.
The only villain in both cases is the same and it’s not the virus or a lack of postal workers – it’s: Donald J. Trump.

Trump today (CNBC) (August 13) in his own words and on live TV – astonishing news and a full confession on his part – to purposely slow the mail and cause delay in mail-in voting which will greatly increase in the troubling time and people elect to vote by mail and no in person for their health concerns – he said:

§  Negotiations for additional coronavirus relief funding are at an impasse “…because Democrats want to give billions of dollars to support the USPS and mail-in voting.”
§  If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money that means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it.”
§  Democrats worry that a slew of recent operational changes made by the new postmaster general, * Louis DeJoy (GOP and Trump campaign donor) will affect the 2020 election.

* Critical NewsDeJoy & his wife have investments between $30 million and $75 million in private mail contractors.

Thus at this rate, he gets USPS downgraded to nothing, gets private mail haulers to take over (also a long-time GOP goal), and bingo: He becomes an instant billionaire.

This single piece of official financial news may be cause for his immediate removal from office

Specifically Trump said that negotiations for new coronavirus relief funding are at an impasse in large part because Democrats want to give billions of dollars to support the USPS and mail-in voting efforts.

Trump then called into Fox Business Report and said:They need that money in order to have the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots. But if they don’t get those two items that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting, because they’re not equipped to have it. If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money, and that means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it. Sort of a crazy thing. Very interesting.”

I insert: Crazy and interesting that is full public confession and coming from Trump at this moment in history is truly astonishing but that’s his M.O. = duck, dodge, deceive, deflect, delay, and deny.

Trump had been asked what specifically was causing a breakdown in communication between the White House and Democrats on Capitol Hill. He has repeatedly has claimed that the 2020 election will be “rigged and rife with fraud if an expected surge of mail-in ballots is allowed to take place.”

Trump’s most-recent comments suggest that he believes he can quash expanded mail-in voting plans and the Postal Service’s ability to accommodate them if he refuses to agree to fund those efforts.

Democrats worry that a slew of recent operational changes made by DeJoy – a major donor to the GOP and to Trump 2020 committees, could harm the integrity of the election.

Additionally, many members of both parties have called on DeJoy, to reverse his sweeping changes, which have been blamed by mail workers’ advocates for widespread mail delays.

For example, Mark Dimondstein, president of the American Postal Workers Union said in an interview with CNBC:We’re getting complaints across the board of a slowdown in mail deliveries. Anything that slows down the mail is the opposite of what the people in this country want and deserve.”

Democrats, as part of their $3 trillion Covid-19 relief proposal, want to include a $25 billion infusion for the Post Office, which has hemorrhaged billions of dollars during this pandemic.

Their stimulus package also included $3.6 billion for election funding, which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said is partly to ensure there are enough polling places and that they are spaced out and open long enough to mitigate the spread of the virus and she added:It’s a health issue. You shouldn’t have to choose between your health and the ability to cast your vote. The president is undermining the health of our democracy by refusing to put up money for absentee voting or the Postal Service.”

She concluded that talks between Democratic leaders and the White House have broken off, as the two sides remain miles apart on a deal for more relief funding.

As for Trump, his remarks to Fox Business expanded on his prior claims that mail-in voting is impossible if he doesn’t approve the funding saying dramatically: “They’re admitting that they want $3.5 billion, and they’re not going to do a deal that’s good for the American people. Therefore, they’re not going to get the $3.5 billion. Therefore, they can’t do the universal mail-in vote. It’s very simple. How are they going to do it if they don’t have the money to do it?”

(All part of his August 12 remarks during his House press briefing).

My 2 cents: As I said we need heroes in this horrible time – the medical personal were those heroes from day-one and now the postal works may step forward to be our new heroes. Hopefully they will.

Plus, now based on the news of DeJoy’s private mail delivery investments if proven true (cite above), Congress must move swiftly to stop DeJoy’s rules and if possible take this directly to the Supreme Court, and have him removed from office ASAP.

This issue is a matter of national security and a blatant constitutional crisis issue: A direct violation and infringement on the people’s right to vote.

Time is running out on this slick Trump plan: That is to delay and call the election a fraud without mentioning that he is the guilty culprit.

Thanks for stopping by.
