Donald J. Trump: Where, How, and From Whom Did He Get and Hone His Lying Con Man Skills

Trump Family Coat of Arms

Trump’s lies hit new record – historical first – will he brag about that record?

Trump is a skillful con man serving only his own personal financial interests as president while spewing BS otherwise that is believable to many, but totally untrue. Nothing can be taken at face value from his lips except tons and tons of lies now well over 15,000.

Imagine any president with this record heading up our country.

Trump has made more than 15,000 false or misleading claims since becoming president, according to a fact checking database. The president surpassed that threshold on 10 December, having ramped up his rate throughout the past year, according to the Washington Post.

All told, Trump had made 15,413 false or misleading claims as of that date, which was his 1,055th day in office.

Part of this story is a database site, created by graphics reporter Leslie Shapiro worth checking out.

Classic Sample from Trump:To Impeach a President who has proven through results, including producing perhaps the strongest economy in our country’s history, to have one of the most successful presidencies ever, and most importantly, who has done NOTHING wrong, is sheer Political Madness!”

FACT CHECK OF THIS ONE:

Yes, he can brag about the state of the economy, but he runs into trouble when he makes a play for his spot in the history books. By about any important economic measure, the economy today is not doing as well as it did under Eisenhower, LBJ, Clinton, or even U.S. Grant.

TRUMP HAS REPEATED THAT 242 TIMES. So, proof meet pudding as Trump dodges reality.

The so-called and well-known big lie theory and historical source:

The great masses of the people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.” — Adolf HitlerMein Kampf, chapter 10 (c. 1923)

So, where did Trump pick up his skill at lying so easily? Um …

FYI: The most effective big lies are outrageous enough to be unbelievable, yet appeal strongly to the prejudices of the listeners when stated in as bland and matter-of-fact terms as possible. It is usually more effective to string several big lies together in a series of talking points.

Maybe he follows this model?

The Gish Gallop: Should not be confused with the argumentum ad nauseam, in which the same point is repeated many times.

In a Gish Gallop, BS points are given all at once in rapid fire.

The Gish Gallop is the fallacious debate tactic of drowning your opponent in a flood of individually-weak arguments in order to prevent rebuttal of the whole argument.

The Gish Gallop is a conveyor belt-fed version of the on the spot fallacy, as it's unreasonable for anyone to have a well-composed answer immediately available to every argument present in the Gallop.

My 2 cents: I’ll just let this post and references stand alone. To all, have a great and wonder New Year – or by the Chinese calendar, it’s the Year of the Rat.

Chinese: Zi

Interesting story behind the Rat – the animal which comes around every 12 years in first place out of all 12 Zodiac animals.

According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which the animals arrived to his party.

The Rat ever so clever tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, the Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, thus coming into first place.

Thanks for stopping by.
