Circle of Trust: No One Else Fits or Matters
(Only this foursome)
Trump hates these 17 Intelligence Agencies
(Thinks he knows more than they do)
Trump likes being against the free world, most U.S. allies, international partners, most treaties, and long-standing
agreements.
But, he does favor strong-arm dictators and tyrants (e.g., Putin; al-Assad; Kim Jung-un; Duterte;
Xi; Erdoğan, and a few others).
Once again he shows his anger and
distrust at our entire intelligence community from top to bottom with this story cited from The AP:
At a recent congressional
hearing, Dan Coats (DNI) testified
on two key nuclear weapon issues: North Korea and Iran, saying in part: “Our intelligence information does not support the idea that North
Korean leader Kim Jong-Un will eliminate his nuclear weapons.”
Then Trump insisted via Twitter (naturally) that his
relationship with North Korea “is the
best it has ever been.”
Then he pointed to the North's halt in nuclear and
missile tests, the return of some U.S. service members' remains, and the
release of detained Americans as signs of progress.
Coats then
said intelligence says Iran continues to work with other parties to the nuclear
deal it reached with the U.S. and other world powers.
The highlights on that Iran deal: By all accounts, including from the
nuclear watch dog, the IAEA, say that Iran is complying fully with the deal
which six major powers: the US, UK, France, Germany, China, and Russia signed
on to is working. They also said that Iran has, at least temporarily, lessened
the nuclear threat.
However, in May 2018, Trump withdrew from
that accord, which he said would not deter Iran, again tweeting: “The
Intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the
dangers of Iran. They are wrong!”
Trump added: “Our
intelligence officials are extremely passive and naive when it comes to the
dangers of Iran. Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!”
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said President
Trump has failed to pay attention to warnings from
his own administration about threats posed by North Korea, Iran, and other
countries, telling reporters:
“Our intelligence
officials are courageous and speak truth to power by publicly contradicting
Trump in congressional testimony this week.”
Then she added: “One
dismaying factor of it all is that the president just doesn't seem to have the
attention span or the desire to hear what the intelligence community has been
telling him – which are cause for concern.”
Pelosi summarized Trump’s
comments as “stunning.”
My 2
cents:
This article from Slate.com asks
this question and it summarizes the above for me as well:
“Ever wonder what must it be like to work in intelligence
under Trump?”
Trump is in way over head. He constantly acts and reacts unpresidential
in just about everything he says, proposes, or does.
He is totally ignorant
about government, security of the nation, foreign affairs, and general common
sense public policy.
Yet, he brags that is the smartest man ever – knows more than
anyone else who ever lived at any time in history. But, the evidence shows his true side: He is skilled serial liar and con artist. The only side and style he knows and practices in everything he
touches his whole life.
He is in a word, the worst president of all the previous 44 presidents
combined.
Let’s hope that S/C Mueller helps end this national
nightmare and the sooner the better.
Thanks for stopping by.
