GOP: 1992 - 2012: Here We Go Again

VP Dan Quayle ("Murphy Brown" speech about unwed mothers)

Presidential Candidate Pat Buchanan (religious and cultural wars speech)

Presidential Candidate Gary Bauer (sex and violence speech and why our enemies hate us)

Sen. Jesse Helms (NC) )(anti-gay speech on Senate floor during debate against Aids bill)

Watching and listening to the TEA-managed, anti-everything GOP today reminds me of the events back in 1992, and some of which carried over to 1994, when Gingrich's revolt led to the GOP taking control of the House for the first time in 50 years.

Today, however, that same message is a bit more subtle. Nevertheless, their actions are louder than words, for those who bother to listen and/or pay close attention.

An excellent video (16-minutes) is posted here as a review of how the GOP "holier-than-crowd" takes religious, cultural, personal, and individual issues (and rights) and rams them into bills that impact everyone for their narrow focus about "less government control," unless, of course, it's on those issues, or they just toss the rights or ignore them and call it good government.

Enjoy the look back and keep it in mind as we move towards 2012. Sometimes it's the subtle things that impact the most.
